For more than 50 years, Legacy Oregon Burn Center (OBC) has been the Pacific Northwest’s trusted leader in burn treatment and recovery. The expert care providers and staff restore not just health, but hope.

It’s a place where medical expertise meets human compassion. Like when Gresham firefighter Spencer Tejedas suffered severe burns on 45% of his body while responding to a residential fire. After four months of care at Legacy Oregon Burn Center, he wasable to move on to rehabilitation and eventually return home to his wife and their two boys.

“The Oregon Burn Center saved my life,” Spencer shared. “Traumatic experiences, as dark as they may seem, there's light. They hold that light and they'll show you yours that you may have lost. My light was pretty dim, but every single person brought me out of there.”

This is what OBC does best: delivering world-class burn and wound care, while nurturing the spirit behind the injury.

Why the New Facility Matters

The demand for advanced burn care is growing:

  • 1,000+ patients each year
  • 350+ children receiving specialized care annually
  • 12,000 people reached through burn prevention education
  • More than 1,000 consultations to hospitals, clinics, and urgent care centers across the region

To continue meeting this need, OBC is building a state-of-the-art home at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center designed to improve outcomes and comfort for patients and their families.
