I grew up in Portland area and have stayed local for my training and career. I received my Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy from Oregon State University and completed residency training at the Veteran’s Administration in Portland. I worked for a year at Oregon Health Sciences University and the rest of my career has been spent at Legacy Health where I have served in a number of roles including Clinical Specialist and Clinical Pharmacy Manager for the system. I have been fortunate to serve as the PGY1 residency program director since its beginning in 2001. My areas of interest include leadership development and practice management. I enjoy serving as a preceptor for both students and residents. I am active in the Oregon Society of Health System Pharmacists and have served in a number of position, mostly recently as the President of our society. I received recognition as OSHP Pharmacist of the Year in 2012. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, cooking, reading and Timbers soccer games.

I am originally from Chattanooga, TN, and I went to pharmacy school at Belmont University in Nashville, TN. I then moved to the Pacific Northwest to complete a PGY1 residency at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA. In 2014, I moved to Portland and joined the Legacy Health team as a PGY2 Transitions of Care Resident. After completing residency training, I worked for CareOregon implementing ambulatory care pharmacy services in a federally qualified health center. In 2016, I returned to Legacy, where I am currently an ambulatory care pharmacist.

My professional interests include diabetes management, transgender care, and precepting residents and students. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, traveling, beer and wine tastings, and the Portland Timbers.

I am originally from Long Beach, CA, a city outside of Los Angeles. For undergrad, I went north into the Bay Area where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Toxicology at UC Berkeley (Go Bears!). I then ventured eastward where I completed my Doctor of Pharmacy education at the University of Michigan (Go Blue!). I then returned back to the west coast into the Pacific Northwest to do my PGY1 training at Providence Portland and St. Vincent Medical Centers. I finally decided to stay put and remained local for my PGY2 training in Ambulatory Care here with Legacy Health. Fresh out of residency, I joined Legacy’s Population Health team as a clinical pharmacist.

My professional interests include diabetes management, deprescribing, and precepting students and residents. Outside of pharmacy, my interests include watching and playing basketball, exploring the outdoors, traveling and cooking.
